Limassol United in a Celebration of Prevention and Hope
With great success and remarkable public participation, the “RoboMarkets 5th Blue Route” took place on Sunday, 19 October 2025, at the Limassol Molos. The event, organized by Europa Uomo Cyprus, was dedicated to raising awareness and promoting prevention of prostate cancer.
Held under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis, and the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis, the event formed part of the Limassol festivities and once again highlighted the city as a model of sportsmanship, social awareness, and community contribution.
Prior to the official start, runners from Apollon Runners, AEL Runners, and Garmin Runners opened the event with a symbolic 5-kilometer run, delivering a strong message of prevention, unity, and sporting spirit. This was followed by hundreds of participants of all ages who walked the 2-kilometer Blue Route along the Molos, enjoying a day dedicated to awareness and life.
During the event, the German Medical Institute offered free PSA testing, while the symbolic shaving of men served as a powerful act of solidarity with those facing prostate cancer. This year also marked the introduction of the “Chain of Life,” a new symbolic initiative aiming to become an annual reference point for prostate cancer awareness and prevention.
Prevention through Sport and Joy
The Blue Fun Day filled the area with children’s smiles through a variety of sports and creative activities. The RoboMarkets AEL Volleyball Academy contributed actively by organizing the sports segment for children, setting up a volleyball court and coordinating activities that combined sport with fun.
Event ambassadors included leading Cypriot athletes Marcos Baghdatis and Pavlos Kontides, whose presence reinforced the message of prevention and a positive outlook on life. The participation of the Cyprus Girl Guides majorettes added vibrancy and rhythm to the event, enhancing its festive atmosphere.
The “RoboMarkets 5th Blue Route” once again demonstrated that when we unite our efforts, we can create strong chains of hope and life, building a society that is more informed, more aware, and stronger.
Europa Uomo Cyprus extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in and supported the event — sponsors, partners, organizations, sports teams, and volunteers — and renews its commitment for next year, with even greater energy, participation, and dedication to the power of prevention.
