PREVENTION WITH PURPOSE: Marcos Baghdatis and Pavlos Kontides join this year’s RoboMarkets Blue Route

The RoboMarkets Blue Route returns for the 5th consecutive year along the Limassol seafront, under the central theme “Walking for Prevention,” bringing once again color, rhythm, and awareness to the city while promoting prostate cancer prevention.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., starting from the Miltos and Christos Christoforou Heroes Amphitheatre, under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Ms. Marina Hadjimanoli.
Details of this year’s 5th RoboMarkets Blue Route were presented during a press conference organized by Europa Uomo Cyprus, in collaboration with the event’s co-organizers, the German Medical Institute and the KMeaters Cycling Club.

This year, the message of prevention gains even greater strength, as two of Cyprus’ most celebrated athletes with international distinctions — tennis player Marcos Baghdatis and Olympic sailor Pavlos Kontides — take on the role of event ambassadors. Through their participation, they send a powerful message: prevention saves lives — and it concerns us all.

Thousands of citizens, cyclists, families, and children are expected to join this year’s symbolic 2 km route for walkers and cyclists, along with new activities that enrich the event. Among the highlights are the Blue Life Chain — an impressive one-kilometer human chain, unique in Europe, dedicated to prostate cancer prevention — and the Puzzle of Hope, which unites companies and organizations in a collective message of hope.

As part of the event, the Shave It Event will take place — a symbolic moustache-shaving initiative — while free PSA Tests will be offered by the German Medical Institute, giving men the opportunity to take an important step toward prevention.

For younger participants, the Blue Fun Day will transform the area into a festive celebration, featuring activities such as Survivor Games, tennis games with Marcos Baghdatis, football matches with the Apollon, Aris, and AEL academies, as well as spectacular performances by a stilt walker and a magician.

The President of Europa Uomo Cyprus, Mr. Andreas Moiseos, emphasized that the Blue Route has become an institution that unites society around prevention and early diagnosis of prostate cancer.
“With our participation,” he stated, “we send a message of strength and hope to all men and their families.”
