In Cyprus, as in the rest of the world, the number of young patients with prostate cancer is increasing every year. Men’s awareness and the right to early diagnosis is an individual right which presupposes detailed information of all men in our country.
In recent years we have come to realize that even close relatives of prostate cancer patients were unaware of the basics of this cancer and the worst of all, they avoided discussing or even asking for guidance. Hence, the need for continuous information and enlightenment to raise awareness among men and especially those who belong to high-risk groups arises.
The Europa Uomo of Cyprus Association aspires to play a significant role in the sector of informing and raising public awareness regarding cancer prostate. It was founded in 2007 and is a full member of the Europa Uomo coalition. It is a voluntary, non-profitable organization, performing a complex and multisided humanitarian work, aiming by its activities and services at the man suffering from prostate cancer and his family during the whole period of his illness.
